A Hopkinton/Contoocook Walkabout

 

All ages are invited to participate in this event in celebration of the Hopkinton Town Library Summer Reading Program. This summer the theme is G’Day for Reading, with books, activities and programs based on an Australian theme.

Discover Hopkinton and Contoocook by having someone take a picture of you with the following people, items, or at these locations in town:

 

Antique from town (something at least 50 years old)

Barn

Cannon

Depot

Elm Brook Park                                                   

Fountain

Handmade item from Hopkinton

Jersey from a sport (being worn by the athlete)

 You may work with a partner or have up to 6 people in your group. At least one person should be in all of the pictures. Bring your photographs to the Hopkinton Town Library by May 30. Each picture should be a 3x5 print and put in alphabetical order. There must be 26 pictures of 26 different things. For example: If you take a picture of an antique, you may not use the same antique in another category, such as an antique weather vane. You must have a photograph of a real thing, not a drawing. You may use resources such as the internet, books, local residents, and the New Hampshire Antiquarian Society (open Thursdays and Fridays 9-4, Saturdays 9-1). You may be asked to explain your picture. For example: What is extraordinary about the person you photographed (for X)? Your pictures will be on display at the library for the month of June.
