Library initiated exhibits will be given priority.

Gallery exhibits will be scheduled for a minimum of 1-2 months, other
exhibits will be scheduled at the discretion of the committee.

Each exhibitor is responsible for hanging his/her own art work and for
providing all the necessary materials for organizing an exhibit. Explanatory
literature about the artist and the work displayed is suggested and should be
displayed with the art work.

All artwork displayed shall be reviewed by the gallery/exhibit committee
prior to display and should be framed or in display condition appropriate for
public viewing.

The Hopkinton Town Library carries insurance for up to $25,000 to cover
the loss of items included in an exhibit. Motor vehicles are specifically
excluded from this coverage. If the value of the exhibit exceeds this amount,
exhibitors should consider the possibility of providing private insurance if
security is a concern.. Exhibitors must sign a waiver of liability holding the
library, its employees and trustees, and the town, harmless for any damage to
loaned material.

Publicity is the responsibility of the exhibitor except when the exhibit is
co-sponsored by the library.

Exhibitors may not schedule special opening or other events without the
permission of the library director. All arrangements must be approved by the
library director at least two weeks prior to the planned event. The even must
be open to the general public.

Each item should have an appropriate label but no prices may be posted on
the items, nor may an admission fee be charged. A price list may be discreetly
placed in the exhibit. Transactions for the purchase of an exhibit item shall
be directly between the purchaser and the exhibitor. No exhibit material which
is sold during its display in the library may be removed before the end of the
exhibition period.

An individual or group will be allowed to display once in any
twelve month
period. Exceptions to this rule will be made at the discretion of the
gallery/exhibit committee.

Granting permission to use library facilities does not constitute an
endorsement by the library staff or the library trustees.

Failure to abide by these requirements could result in denial of further
requests to utilize library exhibit spaces.
